Tomorrow May Never Come

Pure awareness,
Genuinely free from birth and death.
Dualistic mind,
Solidifies yesterdays and tomorrows.
Vajra vehicle,
Aspires awakening in this lifetime.
Don't blink,
This life may just be this moment.
Fortunate sangha,
Take advantage of every precious moment.
This present moment,
Is the crossroad between samsara
    and nirvana.
Wake up Vajra sangha,
Our only hope of awakening may lie
    in this moment.
Because,
Tomorrow may never come!

Composed on the occasion of the death of Patty Rivas, Mexico Nalandabodhi sangha member. Hong Kong, January 11, 2008.
